SIGN THIS PETITION AGAINST MARINELAND AND HELP THE OSPCA
It is our collective duty to help the OSPCA whose mission is to protect animals in need. We cannot let Marineland unjustly sue a society that only tried to protect innocent animals. We call for the boycott of Marineland, and please sign this petition asking Marinland to drop the lawsuit.
In 2016 and early 2017, a total of 11 charges of animal cruelty were laid by the OSPCA against the themed amusement park and zoo Marineland. The charges included accusations of relating to the treatment of several species in the park, including mistreatment of birds, black bears, deer, an elk and a peacock.
The Crown dropped all charges against the theme park, citing that there were no reasonable chances of a conviction for most of the charges. This verdict gave Marineland the opportunity to turn against the OSPCA, declaring it suffered “reputational damage” and that the OSPCA made baseless and fallacious claims in order to ruin the parks’ reputation.
In October, Marineland officially filed a lawsuit against the OSPCA claiming 21 million dollars in compensation for malicious prosecution, negligent investigation, and fallacious claims. The OSPCA published a statement on its website stating it “vehemently denies all of the allegations and will defend itself.”
In the meantime, it is our duty to ensure that the park does not get away with animal cruelty. By sharing this story, we hope to ignite a general boycott of Marineland until the light is shed on this matter and to show our support to the OSPCA.
