Required action

A drop of prosecution and release of Idil Eser and the 9 militants arrested on July 5th.

The petition

To the Turkish government,

We are reaching out to you in the hope of a change. Since July 5, 2017, six human rights activists, inlcuding Idil Eser, chair of Amnesty International Turkey, are being detained by your authorities.

Their arrest and detention are unlawful and based on fallacious charges and it is unacceptable that six of them are still being detained. Four other militants are still prosecuted under the same false claims.

They have been accused of committing a crime in the name of a terrorist organization, without belonging to the said organization. How is it possible to make such serious accusations without proof?

It is inconceivable that honest and innocent activists fighting for equality and basic human rights are treated like this. We call for the withdrawal of the prosecution of all militants and call for the immediate release of the six activists still detained.

We would like to let you know that we are sharing their story to the world so that as many people as possible may fight for them.

We kindly ask you to take the necessary measures.
